Abstract The rapid development of digital tech solutions for operations and FM over the past decade is revolutionising the industry and challenging the traditional modus operandi of FM service providers. Although most of the focus of FM solutions has been on efficiency, cost saving, and user convenience, many asset operators have quickly refocused the ways they use technology over the past year and a half, towards Covid-19 safety. As it is becoming clearer that safety from infection will remain an important issue, this paper explores the ways that operators and FM services providers are re-orienting themselves towards synergistic solutions that achieve safety requirements while at the same time producing cost efficiencies and improved operations control. Biography Alex is a management consultant with 22+ years of experience in the infrastructure and operations space for major strategy houses and consulting firms. He is currently Director and the Head of Business Advisory for Arcadis in Hong Kong and Macau. Alex's service offering expertise focuses on Development Strategy for Smart Cities, operational improvement, capital planning, data and productivity strategy and procurement excellence amongst others, and has helped major clients in Hong Kong with policy and transformation of operations. He has worked across several infrastructure sub-sectors in East Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Africa. He holds a PhD from the University of Surrey, and his work has been published in several international conferences and journals. |
